Help!!! My cars lap belt is to short to fit around my infants car seat?

Question by D. Wade's #1 fan: Help!!! My cars lap belt is to short to fit around my infants car seat?
I have had the car seat to long and can't take it back. My lap belt is a little to short to fit in the belt clip. What can I do? my son is only 2 months old and I know he's suppose to go on the middle if i put him on the side the belts are to long.
the middle belt is adjusted as far as it can go it wont fit. The side belts are long enough but are not tight enough
