Okay, so I consider my 7 year old stepdaughter to be my own child. She lives with us full time, her mom calls her once a year on her birthday (otherwise we have to initiate the phone calls). According to their divorce agreement my husband has their daughter during the school year, his ex-wife gets her for the summer and they trade Christmas and Spring Break.
