What is Thrush?
This fungal infection is caused by Candida Albicans, which has many different species. It can affect many parts of the body and if left untreated may prove to be fatal in some rare cases. The skin, mouth and genitalia can be affected by thrush and in babies it is quite commonly known as diaper rash. If a baby has an outbreak in the mouth, this can pass to the mother's breasts.
