Does anyone else think it's wierd that my health food store sells corn syrup?

We don't use corn syrup in Australia & I have seen a lot of American pie recipes that call for it, because it was in the health food store I assumed it was a healthy alternative to sugar syrup. (silly me)

Does anyone else think it's a bit strange that a health food store would stock corn syrup?
