Is it silly to put an infant in swimming lessons?

Question by Brittney: Is it silly to put an infant in swimming lessons?
I just signed my 5 year old daughter up for swimming lessons at the YMCA and they offer classes for infants beginning at age 6 months. My son is only 5 months but he will be 6 months soon and I was thinking about registering him. My husband said its a total waste of money because a 6 month old can't swim and even begin to learn how. What do you think? Thanks!
